San Mateo, San Mateo County
Coyote Point juts into San Francisco Bay at the north end of San Mateo, a wooded knoll with a marina, a beach and the CuriOdyssey science and wildlife center. During World War II the point housed a training school for merchant marine officers. Planes descending toward San Francisco International Airport pass low over the water just offshore.
